OHIAERI FAMILY
A Family of Firsts
We are not just a family, we are a lineage of pioneers.
It started with our patriarch, Ohiaeri Ewuzie, who left his original home and blazed a trail through Osunkwo forest.
For this bold act, he earned the nickname Agubinikpa — The Leopard Who Lives in the Bush. His courage set the tone for generations to come.
We are the family of Pa Jacob Ohiaeri, the first Abba indigene to attend a primary school, and later, the first to serve as a court clerk.
We are the family of Pa Nathaniel Ohiaeri, the first Abba indigene to attend a secondary school and a university.
We are the family of Dee Josiah Nwa Ohiaeri, who followed swiftly as the second Abba indigene to obtain secondary school education.
We are the family of Reverend Augustine Ohiaeri, one of the first Igbo clergymen to have his sermons broadcast over the radio.
We are the family of Dr. Alexander Ohiaeri and Dr. Phillip Ohiaeri, the first and second medical doctors from Abba.
If you look closely, two words appear again and again: first and second.
That is not by chance. It is by character.
We are the Ohiaeris.
We lead. We pioneer.
